Musturbation refers to the irrational and rigid belief that certain things “must” happen for us to feel validated, happy, or successful. These self-imposed imperatives—“I must succeed,” “People must treat me fairly,” or “Life must go as I plan”—create an internal pressure that can lead to chronic stress, frustration, and even mental health struggles.
